Damien is based on a character I made in middle school. When I started developing the story, I had completely forgotten his name, thus calling him “Nameless” for a while.

Aside from my personal life and college, I’d say it takes about 1-2 months. Sketching and planning takes a week, drawing everything is when things take awhile since I don’t fit my own standards. However, to fix this I’ve started reading comics again to see how the “pros” do it, and to prove that my art doesn’t need to be perfect. Just readable to a point where people get what’s happening. (but also its a passion project, so I want it to be perfect)

Style wise- Gorillaz, Slow Damage, Jhonen Vasquez, and Death Note. In terms of storytelling, I take inspiration from Slow Damage, Saya no Uta, horror movies, and Lovecraft’s work. Also, a lot of artists such as Massive Attack and the Deftones.

In terms of Saya no Uta and Slow Damage, I love how they take different perspectives on isolated individuals and their descent into madness, but also the effects of relationships on the human psyche.
