So this is Love… (Sweethearts)
Sweethearts is a manga-inspired comic following Mochamo, a shy highschooler who works at her mom’s bakery and loves science, making what appears to be her first, real, genuine friendship. Once she finds out the truth about the person who befriended her, Mochamo’s sanity decays very quickly. Sweethearts is a story that covers love, loneliness, bullying, revenge, and sugar.
Mochamo
A shy, introverted baker who loves biology, chemistry, and experimenting. Rumor has it that she’s experimented with her teeth, after they’ve been broken out several times. She’s susceptible to getting bullied and pushed around at school and at work, or.. home. Her bullies love hitting up her mother’s bakery whenever they can, not just to bug Mocha, but also to get some killer treats. Even though Mocha’s mom can embarass her at times, or maybe not understand the severity of her daughter’s issues, she loves her very much.
When she falls for Funfetti, she falls hard. The thought of not being seen as a sugar infested, introverted freak by someone and getting treated like a human means a lot to her, even if it came at the cost of her sanity.
Funfetti
Funfetti was once Mochamo’s friend, and now, her best friend for the rest of her life. She’s the result of her own actions.
After befriending her as a joke, and yelling at her in front of their entire school, Mochamo decided to use Funfetti as a guinea pig for her experiments(she did say she had an interest in dentistry after all.. it kinda lines up with biology, right? js go with it) Her blood vessels run with candy dyes like blue lake and red 40, and her intestines are filled with juicy, sugary goodness.
She can also be seen bearing a pink, candlewax skull sometimes.
